Why We’re Here

We started CaseWhen over shared core values of empathy, authenticity and transparency. Delivering high quality work is important, of course, but not entirely fulfilling on its own. To us, a crucial piece of any project is making meaningful connections with each other and our collaborators. We welcome the kind of work where we see a clear way to add value, but also where we can meet - and grow with - awesome people.

We’re also really good at what we do. Our areas of expertise include Data Engineering, Business Intelligence and Product Analytics. We have experience in both rocket ship start-ups, like Uber and Headspace, as well as established institutions like Deloitte and Schindler. By combining strong technical skills with business savvy, we’ll develop elegant solutions to tackle any of your data challenges.

Sajagan Thirugnanam

Saju was born and raised in Berlin and has dedicated his entire 8+ year career to data, primarily Business Intelligence. He’s helped companies like Flaconi, Schindler and Movinga to optimize processes and increase efficiency in the management and analysis of their data. He excels as the translator between meaningful business needs and in-the-weeds technical requirements.

Even more than SQL, he loves making honest connections (not just to databases). Whether at work or in his personal life, he values friendly, empathetic, and open-minded conversations. You can usually find him on the roundnet court; he’s always available for some games.

  • Favorite domains: E-commerce and manufacturing

  • Favorite tools: Power BI, SSIS, MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL

Austin Levine

Originally from Los Angeles, Austin brings a decade of data experience from start-ups like Uber and Headspace. His expertise includes the “full stack” of data - from pipelining, to modeling, to reporting/dashboarding. From earlier in his career as an analyst, he learned data deeply from the business perspective, while his move to engineering has helped round out his technical approach.

When he’s not learning or practicing German, you can find him playing fetch with his other, less photogenic cat (not pictured above). He misses the good Mexican food back home, so if you find a decent taco nearby please reach out.

  • Favorite domains: App user behavior and product retention

  • Favorite tools: dbt, Airflow, Looker, BigQuery, Snowflake

Where does our name come from?

It’s a nod to SQL’s CASE statement, an indispensable tool for every data analyst.

SELECT

CASE
WHEN work = ‘meaningful
THEN TRUE
ELSE FALSE
END AS is_rewarding

FROM limitless_data;
